If you are looking for information about a property, such as title deeds with owner details or property boundary maps, you can search our online Registry Map at Landdirect.ie to identify the property and apply for copies of the records we hold.
Tailte Éireann is aware that there are third-party websites who offer copies of Folios and Maps from the Land Register at a much higher cost. These private entities repurpose our information and resell it, some even charge for information which is freely available on landdirect.ie.
These websites are not affiliated to Tailte Éireann and have no direct access to the information on the Land Register. To ensure you receive the most up to date, secure and certified information, always apply for your copies of folios and maps from us directly.
How much should it cost?
To avoid paying more than you need for our services, always begin your search for property information on our official websites, www.tailte.ie or www.landdirect.ie.
On Landdirect.ie, it costs just €5 for a plain copy of a folio (title document), with no map attached, and the information will be available for immediate download.
If you require a certified copy for legal purposes, or you also need a map of the property, it costs €40 for a certified copy of a folio with map. Tailte Éireann do not charge a postal fee for delivery of your certified copy.
Further information is available on www.tailte.ie including how to apply for copies of documents by post under the Copy Services section.
Have you overpaid or been misled?
We have been contacted by members of the public who have purchased documents from a third-party reseller, assuming that they had been dealing with us. This can happen as many of these resellers are using Google Ads, which can appear first in the search results, and use website names that resemble Land Registry services.
When contacted, we will investigate and will take action where possible, however, we cannot provide refunds or send replacement documents to you. A new application should be made via landdirect.ie for the documents you need.
If you believe you have been misled into buying a product that was not as advertised or have not received the product after payment has been taken, you should report the matter as a complaint to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Additionally, if you believe that an advert online is misleading, you can report it to the Advertising Standards Authority by letter or using their online complaint form.
You may also let Google know that one of their advertisers are in breach of their ads policies by selecting the three dots to the top right of the ad and logging a report.
