1878-039-291 is a Memorial of Deed of Conveyance dated 21 August 1878 between Oscar Fingal O Flahertie Wilde (first part), Lady Jane Francesca Wilde and William Charles Kingsbury Wilde, executrix and executor of Sir William Robert Wilde (second part) and John Quain (third part).  It was registered in the Registry of Deeds on 24 August 1878.

The Deed of Conveyance relates to three plots in Bray, Co. Wicklow. The property was left to Oscar Wilde by his father Sir William Robert Wilde, and  Oscar is now selling to John Quain. As Oscar’s brother and mother are exectors to his father’s will, they are also parties to the Deed.

As detailed in the memorial, John Quain will pay the sum of £ 1,225 13s 9p to Oscar Wilde, and will also write off a debt of £1,574 6s 3p owed by Wilde to Quain. The memorial contains a description of the plots being sold, aswell as details of ownership of neighbouring sites

In this memorial, there is a reference to a lease dating back as far as 1 September 1969 for “Ripley’s  Holding”.

The Memorial contains the original signatures of Oscar Fingal O Flahertie Wilde, Jane Francesca Wilde and William C. Kingsbury Wilde, who all include their middle names in the siganatures.
